Designed in 1962, the Caravelle lounge chair by Carl-Gustaf Hiort af Ornäs combines a sculptural teak frame with a softly curved seat and high back. Its angular wooden supports balance the enveloping upholstered form, giving the chair a distinctive profile.
Red fabric depicting flowering branches, foliage and birds brings colour and pattern to the warm teak. Very comfortable, with separate seat and headrest cushions, the Caravelle is well suited to reading and relaxing.
An expressive accent for a living room, library or bedroom, it brings Finnish modernist character to layered interiors alongside antiques and contemporary furnishings.
